Let me introduce myself...
My name is Michelle and in May, 2000, I moved  to Washington D.C. from Budapest Hungary, where I had lived for nearly 5 years.  For more information about the city of Budapest, click here.

As I discover useful information and interesting aspects of life in Washington D.C. I will include the information on this page.  For starters, here is a
link to a walking tour through my neighborhood, Adams Morgan.  The first picture on the walking tour shows the bridge I cross every day to go to the metro.  The first street at the end of the bridge is where I live!  Stroll through the walking tour to get an overview of my neighborhood.
My family is scattered around the world.  We don't see each other much, but it does allow family visits to become travel adventures!   The web pages of my family members with photos from some of our trips all seem to  be inactive at the moment, but I'll have links to  them here as soon as they are back in working order.  In the meantime, here is a photo of our  dog, Ozma, as well as a picture of all of us this past Christmas here in a Washington D.C. restaurant.  You can click  here, to see some views from my home state, Oregon.
I love travelling, reading novels, going to movies, riding my bike, and sitting with friends in coffee houses with some good coffee and chocolate chip cookies.  Read on for more information about some of my favorite recent  books and movies!

Books:
Probably my favorite book in the past year was Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Berniers.

Another favorite was
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov.

One last favorite from recent years was
The Cure for Death by Lightning by Gail Anderson-Dargatz.

Some of my other  favorite authors include:  Toni Morrison, Isabel Allende, Barbara Kingsolver, John Irving, and - for some good escapism - John LeCarre.

I am currently part of a book group called the Booker-Tea.  Click
here to see what we are reading this year.

A good sourece of Information about movies can be found in the
Internet Movie Database.  Check it out for basic plot summaries and viewer reviews.
