Picture gallery # 1 - Table Mountain in Winter

This is new - I am not planning to put many pictures on my site, but if a good one comes up I will include it. This one was taken on a perfect day - 31 July 1999 - pretty much the worst time of winter, supposedly. It's a view of Table Mountain. Not the common view from the city or the Bay, but a rear view, taken from Rondebosch Common at around noon. It shows Devil's Peak in the foreground, with the University of Cape Town straggling up it's slopes, and then the larger bulk of Table Mountain itself.

I would have liked to have got the view that I first saw at around 8 a.m., when the learly light had a magical, glowing effect, but I don't own the camera. I called Big Dave, my very good buddy, and told him that it was worth a shot, and he took it on the way home from the office. Hopefully we will get one with the early morning light sometime soon.
