"Aires de mi mi Tierra" is a group of folklore dancers of Panama directed by Margarita Escala. I have been a student of Mrs. Escala since I was 5 years old. I have not only danced in Panama, but in El Salvador and in the US. The panamanian dress that is used for the performing is called "la Pollera". The "tembleques" are the adornments that are used to decorated the head. They are made out of pearls (artificial) and the shapes can vary from a butterfly to a flower. If you are planning on getting one, the price of the pollera will range between $1,200 and $1,600. This price does not include the jewelry or any other accesories.
Take a look at the following pictures!!!!!
The Temblequesare the head piece of the pollera. This head piece got his name from the verb Temblar that in spanish means to shake. |
The Pollera can be found in different colors. Usually the pollera with no color embroidery is used as a wedding dress. |
