Who says OS/2 is dead? |
To me, an operative system is dead the day that:
- Another OS gets to emulate every functionality it provides, running every application better than the native OS.
- It does not offer support for the new technologies.
- It's users change to a better platform that solves their needs.
Well, so far nobody has emulated OS/2 operation (as is the case with Amiga OS, Mac 7.5, Win3.X and other systems)
OS/2 gives support to new technologies that other OS's can't (USB support for example in Windows NT / 2000)
And there are still a good number of users who are still using OS/2 as their normal platform and we consider it better than any other OS in the market.
Therefore, OS/2 is NOT dead.
