Mt Separation Farm Cottages offer a very AFFORDABLE FAMILY FARM HOLIDAY.. (from $75 per night for up to four people)
The farm is situated in the picturesque Strathbogie Ranges, within the Shire of Strathbogie
On the property are two fully self contained cottages HILLTOP and MOUNT SEPARATION Cottage.
This business is primarily aimed at families with young children. In the cottages we provide high chairs and cots, fire guards,and even a cubby house in the main house yard.
Animals are a great attraction for the children, especially collecting eggs. Currently we have coloured sheep, horses, a range of chickens and ducks, deer, goats,and cattle.
Other attractions include Storm the minature pony, Josie the pet cow, Percy the talking cockatoo and an emu called Emoo.
Some of these animals love to be hand fed, especially the goats and ducks. We also bottle-feed orphan lambs in the Autumn, and often hand-rear calves.
The property is adjacent to State Forest, with Mt. Separation rising from our boundary. On the property is a small spring fed creek which flows through a fern george with high majestic tree ferns, this gorge provides a sanctuary for birdlife and koala's. The farm is frequented by many native animals eg. wombats, kangaroos, echidnas, and an abundance of koalas, along with cockatoos and parrots.
Water is plentiful all year round, supplied by crystal clear underground springs.
LOCATION
Our 100 acre property is located high in the Strathbogie Ranges, in a small farming locality called "Boho South" in North East Victoria (Vic Roads Directory ref. map 47. F6 Melways Map 510 U3). At an elevation of 630m we usually get some seasonal snowfalls.
The farm can be reached within a two hour drive from most parts of Melbourne. MAP
FISHING
Our spring fed dams provide yabbies, which can be caught in abundance in the summer months, and also yellow belly, a native fish which can be caught all year round. Local creeks also offer fresh water crays and trout. (Our worm farm can even provide plenty of bait).BUSHWALKING
Because of this location and pristine environment, the area is a haven for bushwalking. The range offers rugged scenery and granite outcrops, waterfalls, blue gum and peppermint forests and of course the famous "Polly McQuinns Weir" which serves as a swimming hole. Mt Wombat offers a vista to view accross the ranges and as far north as the Murray River.The Strathbogie Tableland, is an area that according to legend harboured the Kelly Gang on many occasions just prior to "Their last stand " in Glenrowan.
HILLTOP COTTAGE
The cottage is both fully equipped and comfortable. Facilities include colour TV, VCR and CD player. Air conditioning and wood heating are provided for all year round comfort, as well as ceiling fans in every room. The cottage has a modern kitchen with large electric stove, microwave and dishwasher.
This cottage is positioned amongst a stand of gum trees on top of a rise providing panoramic views from all windows, especially of the spectacular summer sunsets.
Hilltop has two bathrooms, offering two showers, bath and two toilets.
The layout is made up of three large bedrooms and two living areas.
Take in the sights from the verandah, including the kangaroos in the sunset or early morning.
Outside in the securely fenced garden is a gas barbeque and play equipment.

MOUNT SEPARATION COTTAGE
Mt Separation Cottage can accommodate a total of seven guests, with two double bedrooms and bunks in one of the lounges.
This cottage has a cosy rustic charm, with a slate floor in the living area, pine lined walls throughout and even a leadlight window.
Mt. Separation Cottage is also air conditioned for the summer, has ceiling fans and wood heating for the winter months. The cottage garden is also securely fenced and has a built in gas barbeque.
The kitchen features a large gas stove, microwave and two door fridge, electric appliances e.g. kettle, toaster & coffee maker.
