Well .................... last time this was updated was 7/22/00 and so LOTS has happened since then. The last thing we were talking about was Ricky & my trip to Hawaii and Barbara's illness. Since then we have had some very unfortunate happenings, and yet some very wonderful ones also.
The most devestating was that Barbara lost her battle with brain cancer and passed away on Christmas Day 2000. (Although to us that make her a Christmas Angel it was not very helpful at the time. Barbara's best friend Madeline, who had also been suffering from brain cancer lesions and also through out her spine, becaus every ill shortly after Barbara's passing and we lost her also just before Easter 2001.
BUT ............. one the very, very UP side, my sister-in-law, and Dave's brother found out that they were going to have a baby and on April 6th 2001 they had a 9lb 9oz baby girl whom they named Sierra Sue.
As for us, well we found out that I was also pregnant on Dec 4th and I am due August 3rd. So out of the yuckyness there comes a light at the end of the tunnel. We decided when we found out we were going to have a baby, and knowing that we were just waiting for Barbara to pass along to heaven. We decided that we would name our baby after her. We had talked before about the middle name of the baby being the same as Barbara's. This was when we started trying to become pregnant in August of 1999. But in December of 2000 when we foud that I was finally pregnant, it was then that we new that our baby would have Barbara's middle name as its first name. We also decided that our baby would have a Hawaiian middle name and that Ricky could chose what it would be. So ..................... in memory of my husbands wonderful mother Barbara Jean Nichols, and with Rickys input for the middle name, our baby will be named:
Gene Wai hau Nichols = if it is a boy
and
Jean Wai hau Nichols = if it is a girl
