Copper Canyon

At 5.30am we're all forced to get off Pawnee to shovel in some breakfast and drink some Tortoise coffee before catching the train destination Copper Canyon. We are supposed to arrive in Creel at about 3pm but don't get there until 8pm. The ride is beautiful: we drive through about 80 tunnels and most of us (except Tracy) are having a great time reading, looking out the window, dozing off and jumping off the train to grab some Mexican food at the stops.

At one point we stop on top of this bridge that is very high up in the air and underneath it there are derailed wagons. Freaky!

Lots of adorable kids that you're not supposed to take pictures of....or at least pay them.

A 30 minute stop in Divisadero with the beautiful view of the canyon itself. Lots of tourists and natives selling Mexican pots and pans.

Most take a tour to some hotsprings and have an incredible strenuous hike. Here one of Rudi's photos of the happy group.

On our train ride back to Los Moches we unfortunately don't have reservations.... so we end up sitting in the front of the train singing and drumming. Ace, Mel and I even do the "time warp"!!! Yeah, an unforgettable moment!
