1997 Hurricanes - A Calm Year

1997 was a desperately needed break for the Carolinas.  After the strike of Hurricanes Bertha and Fran, the environment drastically needed a break.  Only seven storms actaully reached Hurricane Status this year, and only one storm even made landfall.  Hurricane Danny struck the Louisianna coastline, and travelled up the East Coast.  By the time it hit North Carolina, it only brought rain and minor wind.  Nothing that caused any serious damage.
