Saigon

Saigon or, as the communists call it, Ho Chi Minh City, has a formal zoo, but you don't need to visit it. The whole city is a zoo. Tons of people. Tons of motorbikes. Crossing the street is a contact sport.

This a scene with LIGHT traffic. Reunification (i.e., the Americans lost) Palace in background.


People carry everything on their motorbikes. Everything. At the same time. Those are chickens hanging from the bike in the center and yes, they are ALIVE.



Tex buying something (postcard perhaps?) from an enterprising young lady. Typical conversation goes as follows...
Her: YOU BUY! YOU BUY!
Him: Not Buy
Her: WHY NOT BUY?
Him: Not Want
Her: WHY NOT WANT?
Him: Don't Need
Her: WHY NOT NEED?
and so on...you get the picture.



Here is the T-Man crawling thru the Cu Chi tunnels outside of Saigon. The VC hid in these for months, safe from the big-assed Americans who couldn't fit. (Think "fire in the hole" and "tunnel rat").
