Lemon as a solitary traveller

I've been to quite a few places in the world. As a solitary traveller, most of the fun comes from meeting people, both locals and fellow travellers. It's inevitable that, at times, loneliness will overtake romances. But my belief is if you just hang on, sooner or later, you will be paid off, somehow, somewhere.

My first trip was in 1989, when I travelled from Turkey to France, via Greece, Yugoslavia, Austria, Hungary, Germany (then West Germany), Belgium, UK. I learnt a lot in that trip, such as my own limits, how to live on one's own, etc. But the most important thing was and what I would cherish for a lifetime is the friendships that I strike with people I met. It's quite beyond words to describe it. But it's like though only known for a day, you know it's going to live in your heart forever.

Hong Kong people like to go on package tours to loot, I would say, host countries' shopping malls and natural scenery. But if you have the chance, I would strongly recommend you to take a backpack and travel.

Be a traveller, not a tourist.
