The Hotel / General Store was originally bought by John G. Adsit in 1866. After his death in 1904 the business was inherited by his daughter, Ada Elizabeth Adsit and her husband, Jacob Bloom. It was located in Alps, Rensselaer County, NY on the corner of Rt. 43 and Pike's Pond Rd. It was sold in 1942 and the family who bought it slowly let it fall into disrepair. Several years ago the majority of the hotel was torn down and the more valuable pieces were sold for a profit. To see how it looks now, click here. |
