shared a dream: to make money out of their hobby and create world-class
enterprise.
They began a lifestyle consulting practice in the beginning of the 1990s,
helping numerous clients develop and integrate traveling, fun, good food
and vine. But the future held many new opportunities for consulting work
beyond travel. Over the last 10 years, these partners and their bellies
grew from small local service provider to respected global player present
on all major international markets from Ljubljana to EhrenFeld/Cologne.
Establishing a new lifestyle posed a serious health risk for the original
partners of Alkotours International. They were setting out to create a
new way of living and experiencing leisure time unlike any other, and
there was no guarantee of success. The consulting partners had to give
up their ownership interest in their private vine collection and join
the new Alkotours International as full time employees - and not as simple
volunteers.
But the risk paid off. Since 1999, AlkoTours International annual turnover
has grown from just more than destination to a dozen world wide destination
tours and other services by end of 1999. In addition, the firm serves
more than 85 of the Fortune 100 drunkest men and many of them are world's
leading presidents.
Now, the same competitors Alkotours International was striving to keep
pace with are following its lead. "When we set our objective in 1990 to
be a tier one firm, the market was very cynical about our prospects,"
CEO explained. "Today, Alkotours International is recognized as having
defined the new Alkotoursim market."
