REACTION: CAREER FAIR

The President of AOTT, John
Ferrandino talked to us about the types of programs that the National Academy
Foundation operates. After his
presentation, a student from each high school did a presentation about AOTT. Elissa’s presentation was really great. Our AOTT is unique because we are the only
ones who run a voyaging program. The
President of AOTT chose Elissa to do her presentation in
Next, there was a skit where they interviewed three people. The first one was uncle Duke, he acted as a really nice man although he wasn’t ready for an interview, the 2nd was too conceited, and 3rd was the perfect one with all information needed and everything was on task. Like what one of our guest speakers from Heald College says, “Keep it Simple Stupid.” We also had to visit at least 10 different representatives from the tourism industry, ask them a few question, and then get their signature. After you acquired 10 signatures, you qualified to win a prize. Last year I won a breakfast for two at the Renaissance Wailea but this year it was different.
The best part from this whole field trip was bonding with Maui High and Baldwin. Everyone had a lot of fun and all the games were exciting.
I’m glad I joined this program because, not only do you travel, I learned more about the business world and how it operates then I ever thought I would. We do a lot of fun activities, go to career fairs and bond with other high schools, learn about our tourism industry, and MORE.
