REACTION:  CPR & FIRST AID

This is really a life-changing excursion that we got to experience.  This will be something that you can take with you forever to help a loved one or someone that you meet on the road that is in need of help or assistance.

It was an all day activity except for the seniors who got to leave early because they did first aid last year and you don’t need to renew first aid every year only CPR.  Uncle Duke, one of the coolest guests that we have ever had joins us at the academy.  He talks to you about his life experiences and how your actions in life will make you what you are.  He always told us if you do a half ass job that is what you will get out of it, if you put your all into this activity then that is how you do things to the fullest and you will be very successful in life in whatever you do.

We met down at boarder’s field at 9:00a.m. and got dismissed at about 12:30p.m. It was a long secession but we learned a lot of life skills that everyone should be knowledgeable in.  The first step is surveying the scene, check where the person is hurt and if they want help and don’t ever move the person.

I always enjoy this activity because you can take it with you anywhere and in any situation.  I really do hope that people take this very seriously and put there all into it.  I remember last year when I went to this field trip and didn’t think it was very important I just knew I had to do it to go on the FAM trip that is what I was looking forward to.  But this year I realized that it really is a good life skill and I’m taking it with me on the my career path.

“People drown and get injured al the time, these skills will be with you for a life time.  The reward for helping someone in need is not always material things.  The biggest reward is right in side your heart, knowing you saved or helped a life is a treasure in its self.”
