Anakala Scott Kapololu

Uncle Scott Kapololu was a very cool guy. He was especially different from other guest speakers. He explained everything in a certain way where everybody would pay attention but yet kept us laughing because of the kind of manners he would show during his presentation. I think that it was really interesting when he started talking about how one man is in charge of each little section and that working in the airlines shows the responsibility of teamwork because everybody helps out at the airlines. He also told us how every employee would have to go through a process of getting an AOA badge, which you can get from "customs." You would also have to have a high school diploma and would have to be able to lift 70 pounds of any type of luggage.

Uncle Scott Kapololu also mentioned that to be a customer service agent requires a high school diploma and be able to type 30 to 35 words per minute. You tend to deal with checking in, ticketing, boarding and also the baggage claim. He also taught us how to understand different kinds of abbreviations because of how hectic things can get in the airlines. Baggage claim all contain abbreviations, especially the type of luggage or baggage with certain kind of chemicals, you would have to learn and know how to handle the package and understand what kind of chemicals you are dealing with. Uncle Scott worked in the airlines for 10 years as a load agent. I enjoyed his presentation.

I really like Mr. Scott's presentation because he is more down to earth. He talked from what he knows and experienced. I don't speculate if he has gone to an Airline Academy like Ryan Casco but he told us about every position on the "ground crew." It was interesting and very broad. It was a lot easier to understand him, because he did not really use much fancy words, instead he went straight to the facts. He was a great presenter. Alberto dela Cruz
