KEN BURNS

Mr. Ken Burns is really great at giving speeches as well as presentations.  To me he seems like a motivational speaker.  He came and spoke to us about how to give a great presentation.  In his presentation he used an example of a bell curve, three points on how to give a great presentation and other useful advice.

By showing us a bell curve he told us that the beginning of your speech is the hardest time to get attention.  In his presentation he mentioned three points which were 1) Be Prepared, 2) Look Good, 3) Present Well.  He broke these points down and explained them to us.  Also during his presentation he mentioned some statistics.  He said a person should hear important information 6 times to remember your presentation.  And he also made us get up and do a little exercise to get us energized and not fall asleep during his presentation.

Having him as a guest speaker gave us good advice and tips into giving a great presentation.  Mr. Burns presentation was very good.  He spoke clearly, made eye contact, and he interacted with us.  When we had him as a judge he was surely hard to impress but now, we know what to expect from him.  These tips hopefully will be used in our up coming project.

CIARA QUAM-  This was a really good presentation.  I really enjoyed listening to Ken Burns.  He really gave a lot of good suggestions and facts about how to give a good presentation.  He also had a lot of useful and interesting information.

ELISSA KAHAHANE-  Ken Burns really helped in explaining specific points to explain and be more interactive with giving a presentation.  His presence in the class just helped everyone, I believe, and hopefully everyone will improve their presentations.
