Ritz Carlton
Visitation

Lahainaluna’s Academy of Travel & Tourism class took a
trip to the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. They were presented with a power point
presentation in the morning, followed with a tour of the hotel grounds, a
behind the scenes tour, and a “great lunch” that was all hosted by William Kamaka, Organizational Effectiveness Training and
Development Director. As part of the
tour, we were presented with a movie called “Then there were none.” It is a sad but true story full of facts
about Hawaii and its overthrow
with Hawaii’s former Queen Liliuokalani. While
interviewing some of the AOTT students, one replied “I liked this tour better
then last year. We got to walk around
the grounds, see what really happens in the hotel industry and the many
different jobs that require a hotel operation to work/operate.” They really seemed to be impressed about the
movie, “Then there were none.” Some of
them have seen the movie before however, they still learn more by watching the
movie a second time. “I would love to go
back,” said a junior. Lahainaluna’s AOTT field trip was a great success. They all wanted to come back and would love
to thank Mr. Kamaka for a great tour and
presentation.
Collette Cardoza “The Ritz Carlton employees will do almost anything to please
a guest. I really enjoyed William Kamaka’s presentations’ about the Ritz and he seems like
such a great asset to the Ritz Carlton.”
Elissa Kahahane “I’ve
learned so much from this hotel and the Ritz Carlton has a lot of class. I’ve never seen any hotel on Maui, possibly besides Grand Wailea Resort, who
has taken a step so that they can please their guests at their best. I was very impressed with everything we did
at the Ritz Carlton.”
