ROPES COURSE

The ropes course at Seabury Hall was a different experience from last year?  I did not only contributed and messed up more.  But also my “goal” was shattered.  First of all, at the activities I totally was impatient!  When we were doing the “river”, we were losing much of our time because we were cheering the people crossing.  Although, it was good intended, we could have used the time preparing the next group to cross.  When I finally crossed, my impatience hit my ego.  I felt that the “leader” o f the activity was not listening to my suggestion.  Thus, when I thought of a “loophole” in the activity, I sent one of our “survivors” over.  However, I did not remember that only one can cross at once and the “magic” shoe was on the other side.  Therefore, I totally screwed up.

Well, I learned not to rush things.  But it did not sink in.  Well, one of the reasons I went to the ropes course again was to get the trampoline at the other side of the telephone pole.  Nevertheless, when everybody was taking so long—everybody on the ground was yapping that the people were taking so long.  Especially the ones that went first—they were taking up to 25 minutes, just to put their feet on top of the pole and then jump.

Hence, when I was to go to the pole, I promised myself that I would not take so long.  But there was—I guess, why you should take that long?  When I was at the same position, I was stuck.  I was mentally not moving my feet.  After three minutes of yelling, I moved my feet up.  Next, I move my other one—I quickly lost my balance and I was falling backwards!  (The pole spikes were there!)  Therefore, instead of salvaging the goal, I wanted to save myself!  Thus, I pulled myself forward and fell.

I was pretty disappointed, but I thought a while.  That not only I should consider getting things done on a timely manner, but it is also important to look ahead.  Rushing will reap a better product, but a reasonable pace will.

Malala McMoore – The trip really opened my eyes and showed what working together as a team was.

Kazuo Flores – I learned that no matter who you are you couldn’t do everything by yourself, but you also cannot do anything with out the planning, communication, and hard efforts of all of your teammates.
