July 9 – Returning Home

Today we returned
home. Scheduling a flight that left at 1
PM, we had plenty of time to get to the airport.
The airport was the one to which we originally arrived,
Stansted. We took a train out of London
from Liverpool Station that leaves every fifteen minutes for the one hour ride
to Stansted. Along the way, we saw some of the grittier residences of London like one might see riding the rails out of an old
American city like Baltimore.
MaxJet lived up to the expectations we garnered from the
flight over to England.
The lounge offered an open bar and snacks. However, unlike Dulles, we had to
walk through the public area to our gate. How spoiled we had become.
This was our granddaughter Marlo’s first birthday. Traveling
with the sun, it was a long day and gave us plenty of time to call Olympia, Washington,
and wish the little one a Happy Birthday (or at least her mom and dad).
