The Glockenspiel displays scenes from the 1568 wedding tournament of Bavarian Duke Wilhelm V, and the Schafflertanz, a reminder of the 1517 coopers' guild dance.		The Sendlingerstrasse Completely deserted! This was on a Sunday morning during Oktoberfest. I think most people were probably in bed with serious hangovers

The Neues Rathaus and St. Mary's Column on the Marienplatz, urban center of Munich since 1158.


The best part of Oktoberfest for me was seeing the Germans in their folk costumes. They all dress up for the festival.		Beer hall at the Oktoberfest fairgrounds

I have no idea who these cooperative young guys are, but I thought their squishy hats were funny, and when they saw me photographing them they turned around and mugged

Now this is the way beer should be delivered -- in a flower-draped, horse-drawn cart.
