NEW ZEALAND 6
With family and friends before the big South Island trip (Nov. 14-22, 1999)
My sister and me hanging out on a cool trail near Piha beach.
Lion rock on Piha. Dang, what a cool beach!
Alex pontificates preposterously about people's propensity to find peace on the planet - Kare Kare beach.
The bright spinnaker of America One during the Luis Vuitton Cup races one day in November.
The Japanese and French boats have a close call.
This is my favourite shot of my family while in Kiwiland. Bastion Point, sunset.
This is the famous One Tree Hill - featured in a U2 song of the same name.
"Marc, looking into your eyes and smelling this rose reminds me of all the special times we shared together."
Grrrr Tiger! I'm gonna getcha!
This is where Alex, Travis and I spent New Year's Eve later on, but here it is with my family in November. Cathedral Cove, also on the Coromandel Peninsula. Pohutakawa trees, blue sky, emerald water, limestone cliffs, and white sand.
A limestone formation in Cathedral Cove.
We went to the Tamaki Bros. Hongi meal in Rotorua. How's that for a greeting!
Mt. Tarawera. A series of craters blown up during a volcanic eruption. We went skree walking after taking an awesome four-wheel drive vehicle up the side of the mountain. It rocked (literally).
The Tongariro Crossing, and eight hour hike through some amazing countryside. I swear, this country has such amazing and diverse scenery!
Another shot from that hike. A little perspective on life never hurt anyone.
At the Waitomo Caves near Hamilton, where you get dressed up like a tool and go white water rafting through caves in inner tubes looking at glow worms.
