I met my wife Cathy in 1979 while I was at a church fellowship in Detroit. She came up to me and started talking to me, asking what my name was and what I was interested in. I didn't think much about the encounter until about 4 weeks later when she asked me if I would be interested in going with her to a friends wedding. I accepted and in the process we had a chance to talk for several hours with each other. What followed was a series of about 6 or 7 dates each ending in a marathon 2 to 3 hour talking session which allowed us to get to know each others likes, dislikes and dreams. Cathy then went on a one week vacation to Florida and while she was gone I found myself missing her so much that when she returned I asked her to marry me. That was now 21 years ago and the joy she has brought to my life can't possibly be measured. God has truly blessed me with this woman and there is no way that I can ever thank Him or Cathy except to continue to dedicate my life to both of them forever. |
