Fred and Jane's Vacation in Italy

We flew from Newark on Lufthansa to Munich on May 15 and then changed planes for Milan where we boarded the bus that would take us on our Italian tour. We arrived at Stresa, Italy around noon where we stayed at the Villa Carlotta Hotel.
STRESA PHOTOS.
On the 18th we traveled from Stresa, through the mountains, going through many tunnels, to Firenze (Florence). We stayed at the Grand Hotel Baglioni. On the way we stopped at Pisa.
FLORENCE PHOTOS.
Then on the 20th we left for Roma staying at the Hotel Quirinale.
ROME PHOTOS.
Our last day in Rome (May 22), we took a train to Pompeii. We were the only ones in our group who were adventuresome enough to do this on our own. Others took a guided bus tour that visited Naples and spent only 2 hours at Pompeii. The train was far more comfortable and we were able to be in Pompeii from 10am to 4pm, arriving back in plenty of time for dinner (the bus people were late).

May 26, goodby to Italy, flying to Frankfurt and then to Newark via Lufthansa.
