I ran into Pat after our facials and we felt like we could float down those 79 steps. We ran into Gerry, Nadine & Virginia and they said we were glowing and looked so relaxed! So of course we had to stop at the bar to celebrate our new faces! My next treatment was the Swiss Massage at 4:00 and Pat was scheduled at 5:20.
After relaxing for a little while, I traveled back up the 79 steps for my full massage. This is when the "trouble" started! A gentleman named Renee was going to give me the massage. He spoke with a wonderful accent, however I could not understand him completely. He instructed me to remove all of my clothes and I thought he said get up on the table and sit on my butt! He left the room while I got myself undressed and climbed up on the table. I was most confused about why I should be on my butt so I rushed to make sure that I was undressed and ready for the massage.
Renee called into the room to see if I was prepared, however my butt seemed to be stuck on the towels [remember it is very humid here and after walking up 79 steps I was sweating a little] and I couldn't get myself unstuck.. I think he thought I said I was ready [not!] and he came into the room, he immediately covered his eyes and ran out in a panic saying …. "No no no … you must cover yourself with the towel and lay on your back!" Oh I get it now - so I attempted to get myself unstuck from the towels and found the towel I needed under me. I lay down on the table and placed the towel over my body. Renee tried again to enter the room and found that I had the towel across my body side ways and not neck to feet. He again ran out of the room until I adjusted the towel properly.
We were both blushing and trying to make the best of the situation when he finally got brave enough to come back into the room. By this time I think he wished he was anywhere but in this room with a crazy woman that could not follow instructions. So we decided to re-introduce ourselves and start over. The massage turned out very well and I was completely relaxed, almost falling asleep on the table. I thanked him for being so patient with me and he smiled shyly and we said goodbye.
Pat was schedule for his massage at 5:20 and we had some time to spare. We decided to sit on the beach for awhile. I told him what happened during my massage and asked him not to get naked and sit on his butt - that he must lie on his back and have the towel placed properly or they would certainly throw us both out before our vacation was officially over!
While sitting on the beach I noticed a woman that was topless. Now this is not something we are use to in the US! She came out of the ocean right near where Pat was swimming [he swears he never noticed her] and walked to her lounge chair slowly and sat down, stretching out to get some sun. Pat came back from his swim a short time later and I pointed out 2 men {must be Americans!} who were staring at the topless girl. I told Pat they would need neck massages shortly because of all the straining to get a better view! Next thing I know, the men both moved their chairs up the beach to be closer to the topless girl - they actually sat there sideways on the chairs staring at her for at least a ½ hour! Pat kept saying he was watching the men watching the girl … sure I definitely believe that one! After my recent experience with my massage, I was not going to take off my top no matter what!
We left finally left the beach and Pat went back up the 79 steps for his massage. He had a woman for his massage and all went well. However, he did admit to falling asleep and snoring during his treatment. So I guess he was totally relaxed!
While Pat was getting his massage I decided to join the walk to Pirate's cove and watch the sunset. Our bodyguard, Richard led a group of us on a hike that was up and down some hills, across a beach and over some rocks. We laughed and told jokes while walking and sitting on the rocks waiting for the sun to set. It was a wonderful experience and I will remember this for a long time. The sun set, but there were some clouds so the view was not as spectacular as it had been the night before. We re-traced our steps and returned to the hotel for dinner.
We met Gerry & Nadine for an excellent dinner and the wineglasses never seemed to get empty, no matter how hard we tried to accomplish this task! The dessert was to die for and we all could hardly move after this meal! However, this was Staff entertainment night and we could not wait to see what was in store for us.So we dragged ourselves from the dinning room and walked to the bar/stage area. There was a lot of excitement in the air - the band was made up of staff members [they sounded like professionals] their music was very diversified. The curtains went up - Vincent was the emcee for the night - his marvelous personality flowed out to the audience. The staff members are extremely talented - there was a country western singer; dancers; a skit by three staff members that could win an academy award! Trevor, who is the trainer for T'AI CHI, yoga and meditation did a number of dances that were sensual and beautifully done.
He even made the butterfly custom [which glowed in the dark] for one of his dances.
There was a fire-eater who put on quite a show [it turned out to be Richard, the bodyguard that led the sunset walk - gee had I only known this during our walk!] It was a very festive event and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Now Pat, Gerry & Nadine and I were fully awake and ready to go … so at midnight we decided to go to the swimming pool, another couple from New Jersey [Laurie & Jeff] joined us. It seems that the Americans are locating each other and joining together. We stayed in the pool until about 2:30 AM and wearing ourselves out with swimming and talking. Time to return to our rooms … we all started walking in the same direction - it seems Laurie & Jeff are hotel neighbors too - Room #313! Now we have people from New York on one side of our room and people from New Jersey on the other. I don't remember falling asleep - I think I hit the bed and went out like a light!
