A Rose Blossomed on a Summer's Eve

It was the secretive, invisible Sammy that hosted the event
And it's true that some of his guests were generally well bent
Yet strangely, an aura of serenity blazed deep down inside
Thereby extinguishing the possibility that anyone could hide

As the guests on this mid-summer's eve mingled, rocked ... even talked
Drawn by the magnetic pull of a sweet-scented Rose, one unfortunate flocked
toward that field of awe where it was no longer possible for escape to take place
Because the attraction of her beauty was the entrapping smile upon her face
