As
Salaam'Alaykum
Ramadan Mubarak!
Today, with so many in the western countries having misconceptions about
people from Saudi Arabia and particularly Saudi men, I want people to know
the truth about Islam, and the tolerance, kindness and generosity of the
Muslim people. My books also show people, especially children, that Islam
is relevant for all times and all circumstances. Would you please announce
my books to your community and include the information on your community
webpage, Thank you for your time. Please read below

Valley Author Inspired by Saudi Police Officers
Writes New Islamic Children’s Book Series
Tempe, AZ, October 2003—Linda D. Delgado, has just published the first four
books in her Islamic children’s book series, Islamic Rose Books.
In the year 1999, eighteen Saudi Arabian police officers came to the U.S.A
as short-term exchange students to study English at ASU and receive police
training with the Phoenix Police Department. The author invited two of the
officers to live in her home. Their positive impact on her life inspired
the Islamic Rose Books series. The author’s granddaughter provided further
inspiration, imagination and fun to the writing of these books. They are
fictional, but many characters and happenings are based on actual events
that have occurred in the author’s life.
What Readers Say About Islamic Rose Books
”I have only two words for the creative, fun and educational Islamic Rose
Books – Thank God! It’s such a pleasure to place these books into the hands
and the minds and the hearts of every child, Muslim and non-Muslim alike,
with the comfortable knowledge that the uniquely crafted lessons within
will leave the readers touched and all the better for it!” Mrs. Amatullah
AlMarwani, Author of The Zaahir & Jamel the Camel Series.”
Book 1: The Visitor begins the series with meeting the two officers and
resolving issues of bias against Muslims and Arabs within the main
character’s family. Rose, the protagonist, is a nine-year-old only child of
a single parent father, who lives next door to her grandparents where the
Saudi officers are staying.
Book 2: Friends has Rose going to a public school for the first time as a
fifth grader. Here she meets and makes friends with a group of girls who
have differing ethnicities, cultures, religious beliefs and backgrounds.
They become the Hijab-Ez, a friendship group based upon what they have in
common, not what would ordinarily separate them. Together, they have many
adventures and tackle problems universal to children today at school and
with family.
Book 3: Stories is filled with wonderful Islamic stories of historical
persons and events. Rose and the Hijab-Ez use the wisdom in the stories
told by the Saudi Officers to resolve many predicaments and concerns. Rose
also searches for answers about her own family and finds them in stories of
the family's past.
Book 4: Saying Goodbye has Rose, family and friends experiencing many kinds
of goodbyes, some heart wrenching, others challenging, but all faced with
courage and hope that come with the memories of shared friendship and love.
Each book is a complete work from the delightful story to the many extras
like an Appendix which contains original Islamically approved international
recipes and many interesting facts with corresponding web-site links about
places in Arizona visited by Rose, family and friends. For the new readers
to Islamic fiction, a glossary of Islamic words and definitions is also
included.
