Thailand

I flew into Bangkok and caught a flight from there to Koh Samui.  I got myself a bungalow right on the beach and met up with my brother and sister-in-law that afternoon.  Checked out the town a little (lots of shops with trinkets and shirts) and had dinner at a spot on a hill overlooking the beach.  The next day we rented scooters - went to Big Buddha, a couple towns, a waterfall and "monkey work coconut".  I crashed on my scooter on the way back and scratched myself up pretty good.  Third day we rented kayaks and paddled around.  The guide was with me and informed me it was his first time kayaking. . .we flipped later on when he had us going to shore parallel with the waves.  Saw some Thai kickboxing one of the evenings and had a relax day too.

I went to Bangkok for a few days after Koh Samui while John and Nancy went back to Taiwan.  I stayed at a really nice hotel in Bangkok (got a deal on the Internet).  Spent most my time wandering between temples, breathing in foul air and checking out the markets.
