90th Anniversary
The Lady of the Lake
Built in 1912 by the McGregor Foundry in Dunedin for the New Zealand Railways,
the TSS Earnslaw was the biggest steam powered ship built by a New Zealand
firm. She worked for 60 years for the railways before it was surplus to their
requirments. Luckily for the old girl Fiordland Travel acquired her as a tourist
ship. And the Earnslaw is still riding the waters for the company.
