Back in Portugal we met a couple on the train talking about this island, Illna de Tavira where only InterRail'ers camp because it is a bit difficult to get there. You have to walk a bit and take a small boat. The station where you get off (Tavira) is about 20 miles from the Spanish border, from there ask for directions. The boat is less than 1$US and the camp is 3$US a night.

The nights here are hot in more than one sense. Every night there is a party on the beach. People playing guitar and the Sangria are floating.

It is too hot to sleep in the tent, even on the Camp so one night we went down to the beach to sleep in the nice breeze coming in from the Atlantic. But be aware of thieves that rob you while you sleep. We didn't experience this but were told many stories.

We decided to move on down the Algarve to Dimos dissatisfaction, he had found two German girls which he was flirting heavily with. After a small quarrel wether we should go or not, we left for Faro.
