We got a great deal through Adventure Tours and stayed at the all-inclusive Blue Bay Village. This was our third visit to a Blue Bay Resort and like those in Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, the staff went that extra mile to see that we had an enjoyable vacation.

The main pool. Three levels with waterfalls. There is also a lap pool and resistance pool over by the spa, where we spent much of our time as it was reserved for adults only. The spa has an exercise room, a hot whirlpool, a sauna and a steam room. We also spent a lot of time on the beautiful black sand beach in the shade of picturesque, twisted trees.
The resort offers almost continuous daily activities. Carl and I took a scuba lesson and I participated in water aerobics. In the evenings, after dinner, there are shows and other entertainments. Check out Carl as the Banana Man.

We took three tours during our week in Costa Rica. The first tour, on Monday, was a combo Rain Forest Adventure and trip to Tabacon Hot Springs and Arenal Volcano.
After a day of rest on Tuesday, we set out early Wednesday morning for Palo Verde National Park. This relaxing float down the river was followed by stops at a couple of souvenir shops where we bought trinkets for the folks at home.
Another lounging day on Thursday was followed by a trip to Buena Vista Hot Springs on Friday, where a 45 minute horseback ride brought us to the bubbling mud pots and steaming fumaroles at the foot of Rincon de la Vieja volcano.
