This is picture was taken while I was standing in the middle of the "mudflats" during the dry season. The "mudflats" is basically the bottom of what becomes a river/creek during the wet season!! As you can see, the landscape is something quite unique, I don't think you will find any place like this on earth!! Next photo

This picture is of the Ord Dam near Kununurra. This dam could swallow up the Sydney harbour several times over. The original settlers in the Kimberly's (the Duraks) had a homestead whose original site is several kilometres under water now! The homestead was moved brick by brick prior to the daming of the river. Should the damn wall break, Kununurra would have approximately 20 minutes to evacuate. Next photo

"Never smile at a crocodile"... well this is probably true, except in the case of this scaley little critter, he won't necessarily attack you. It is a freshwater croc (Johnson River croc) and is only known to attack people when it feels threatened or protecting its young; unlike the "salties" (saltwater) that will attack unprovoked! But nevertheless, you would never find me getting too close to a fresh OR salt water croc!! Next photo

Now, the beloved Kangaroo. Whenever people say Australia, you will most likely think Kangaroo or Koala Bear, and probably Sydney harbour!. This particular kangaroo (his name is Brutus), who is not a pet, is very tame and I actually had the opportunity to give him a scratch around his ears! Next photo

This is a sunset, one of the many breathtaking views, from the Bastion at Wyndham. From this vantage point you can see all of the five rivers meet that flow into the Cambridge Gulf.
