Received word of this website via Virtual Okinawa - WOW!! Wonderful memories have come flooding back all day - I taught 7th grade at CKS in 1971/72 and consider it one of the most wonderful years of my life. After leaving Okinawa in 1972, I returned to the US and ultimately sponsored Jessie Kyan to become a US citizen; she lived with me in California until I sponsored her boyfriend, and now husband,Isidro lopez (aka Junichi Matsubara) to join her. When I remarried in 1982, Jessie, Isy,and Karen Yang were at the wedding. I now live in Connecticut with my husband and children - I changed careers in the 1980s and am a nurse specializing in cancer and pain management (and I still teach - tho now it's nursing!). Thanks so much, Frank, for getting this started - hello to HonWon J, too. Would love to hear from other students I had - I remember you all!! I also have lots of pictures I will try and scan. Well, I guess I am the first, since I wrote this page. This all started with an email from my sister Didi and a bunch of her email contacts from CKS. I also have a few, and someone asked if there was a web page for us CKS alumni. There didn't seem to be o e yet, so we started this one!
By the way, I visited Okinawa in July of 1996 on business after leaving in 1975. 21 years of change was really amazing! Made a trip back to CKS. It's still there, but quite different.
