Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder - a novel that explores the history of
philosophy through the eyes of a high-school girl. The book was made into
a highly successful film in Norway. I saw an exhibit about the movie at the
Oslo Folk Museum, and have been interested in reading the book (or seeing
the movie) ever since.

I don't think I've ever laughed so hard (except maybe during the flamingo
