I was born and raised in Houston, Tx and lived there all my life until i left for college. My family is still down there. My baby brother Simon is all grown up now. He graduated from the business school at UT with an engineering focus (guess the business mind just runs in the whole family) and is now in the working world like the rest of us. I cant believe how fast time flies.. Anyway, my brother is the best and he totally cracks me up. You should check out the pic of him in Vegas. Such a pimp..
I am very thankful for my family. It seems like we've all gotten much closer now. I guess when you no longer live at home and hardly ever see your family, you start to appreciate them more. Now when i go home to houston, i rather spend time with my family instead of my friends there. such a change from a few years ago. I try to make sure I go home at least 1-2 times a year to see my grandma. Her health has been deteriorating since my grandpa passed away. I still miss him a lot. I spent a lot of time with him when I was young, going swimming together and golfing with him (meaning I get to drive the golf cart. =))
My family has always been big on travel. I've probably travelled to more countries before i turned 21 than ppl travel to in their whole lifetime. I am thankful that I got that opportunity. Its not even about travelling to all those exotic places, but more that even though my dad worked alot, he would still take a chunk of time to spend with the family. Now that none of the kids live at home anymore and we're all working, we dont really get a chance to travel together, but we still have our annual xmas ski trip. I dont even ski as well anymore (started getting scared which screws u up), but I would never want to miss a ski trip b/c it means the whole family gets together..my parents, brother, cousins, aunt and uncle, etc. We even took my grandparents one year, right before my grandpa passed away. He was so happy and I think after that trip, he was ready to move on to the next place. Here's a small dedication to my grandpa.
I dont think i've aged since then.
