Why do we have this home page?

We believe we have a lot to offer to the on-line community. Specifically, this home page will deal with our traveling experiences. We enjoy seeing everything that this wonderful world has to offer, and since our marriage on March 20, 1995, we have visited all 50 states of the U. S. and all 10 Canadian provinces, as well as Washington, DC. In some states we have seen a lot, in some states we have seen or done only one thing (we don’t count states that we’ve only passed through on the way to other states). In some states we toured only one city or region, in other states, we’ve seen sights all over. We can’t guarantee that our experience offers you useful information that will immediately relate to your intended destinations. However, we have visited a wide variety of places, some of which may interest you.

We tend to look for two things in a tourist attraction: If a certain attraction is closely identified with a location, we want to see that (e.g., Graceland in Memphis). And, if something looks unique, then we want to see it (e.g., the Barbed Wire Museum in LaCrosse, Kansas).

Also, a major criterion for what we get to see is time and location. Our long trips usually cover approximately one state or province per day, so we plan our route in order to head in the direction of our next state and we choose our attractions based on how far apart they are from one another and when they open or close. We plan our days down to the minute, which often means that a delay will cost us a few tourist attractions, but even on days that we miss some things, we always end up seeing a lot, since we had packed them so fully to begin with.

Our ultimate goal is to hit all 50 states and all 10 Canadian provinces by our fifth anniversary (March 20, 2000). And we have done it! We have completed this goal on March 14, 2000! Stay tuned for serious web site enhancements!
