The gang during our hike to a seal colony

After the trip through the north island I spent a couple days in Wellington and lost most of the people on the first bus. Here're some of the new bunch at a seal colony we visited on the west coast.

The Garbage bag party!

Me, Shiela, and Linda

Here're the garbage bag clothes we devised when dropped at a local pub in the middle of nowhere for the night. It was actually Lee's place in Mahinapua, but it was still the middle of nowhere! Notice Titch's ass. We saw a lot of it -- he's english though so I suppose it's OK.

Lunch time on Franz Joseph.

The Yeti Hunters!

Titch and Nick

The trip down.

These are some photos from the day we spent hiking on Franz Joseph Glacier. Despite the fact that it was called a hike it was really a Yeti hunt. Needless to say we didn't find any Yetis. Nick and Titch did look really ferocious though.

The Lady Bowen.

Here's the Lady Bowen, the ship that took me around Milford Sound

Me, Stuart, and Graham.

Here we are going on the Shotover Jet near Queenstown. It's a small boat with a really big motor. The boat needs only 10 cm of water, and thrusts 380 liters of water a second. From first hand observation the driver only seems to need about a foot on either side as well.

Snowboarding at Coronet Peak

Snowboarding at Coronet Peak. I figured I'd better give it a go, even though New Zealand was having a very bad winter for snow.
