From Cairns I made use of the free trip to Cape Tribulation that I'd won down in Dingo (if you know me you can ask how). We spent two days at PK's Jungle Village checking out our exotic surroundings. This is a photo of Myall Beach, with the Rainforest coming right down to the beach edge and fog surrounding the hills in the distance. Totally awesome!! |
After getting back to Cairns from Cape Tribulation I signed myself up for a rafting trip on the Tulley River. No a cheap experience, but definitely an excellent one. We all received our initiations on the first rapids we ran, where we lost the two people on the front right. It was hilarious watching it on video afterwards. Every other rafting party made it through the first rapids unscathed, then along we come and all hell breaks loose! |
After Cairns Oz Experience took us through the Atherton Tablelands. This is Millaa-Millaa falls, where we took a lunch/swim break. It was a bit chilly, but great nonetheless. We took the time to swim under and around behind the falls. |
Despite having already seen real salt water crocodiles in the wild on the Daintree river we thought it would be a good idea to see a few more. Here's one of the ones from the Crocodile farm we visited in the Atherton Tablelands. |
Here I am doing a tandem hang-glide above Lennox Head. Lennox Head is a wee place a 15 minute drive south of Byron Bay (also a wee place). |
