The Green
Mamba Snake
The mamba is one of two venomous snakes, genus Dendroaspis, of the cobra family Elapidae, found in Africa south of the Sahara. Unlike cobras they are not hooded.
The green mamba D. angusticeps is 5 ft/1.5 m long or more and lives in trees, feeding on birds and lizards. The black mamba D. polylepis is the largest venomous snake in Africa, occasionally as much as 11 ft/3.4 m long, and spends more time on the ground
