About me

Hello, my name is Chris Day, I’m 24 in a couple of weeks, from Idle, Bradford in the North of England. This is good because it means I can follow the team I love, Man U, (as you’re not allowed to support them if you’re from Manchester for some reason)

I’m currently working my way around Australia, at the moment I’m in Alice Springs, next stop is the East coast and Sydney. Before arriving in Oz, I worked in Canada for a year, 6 months Toronto and 6 months Vancouver. I went to Canada straight after finishing university at the Northumbria University at Newcastle.

Along with my mum and dad I’ve been a season ticket holder for the past 9 –10 years (LMTB before then) and Ive had the pleasure of standing on the Stretford end, we all now sit in the scoreboard end, at the backrow of the first tier.

I’ve only been to a few games this year, as obviously it costs an arm and a leg for the transport from here. The last game I went to was the defeat by borough, 3-2.. We did beat them I the cup the day I left England though.

Well it’s been a superb year, Utd did the treble, City were promoted, top stuff.

Dear Utd

What else should I say,? , The best game Ive been to was the European cup winners cup in Rotterdam, the semi final against oldham, when hughesy scored that volley in the last minute. Beating Arsenal 4-1 in the first game of the season. When we all said this would be our year, and it wasn’t. Winning the leaue for the first time in 23 years and the Blackburn at home was good, I can still remember Pallister’s free kick.

I’ve had some bad memories aswell, watching utd get beat 5-0 by newcastle in london, then going back to uni, that was funny reallyall of a sudden the flags were out. Watching the away game v dortmund and getting slighy intoxicated and having a brief skirmish with a picture frame. Behold the powers of beer. I remember I told my mate who drove to the hospital that in the fog it was best to turn your headlights off, needless to say we ended up on a roundabout. Hazy memories. Standing at knebworth when 125 thousand were singing who the the flip are man utd. (that day we beat newcastle 4-0 in the charity shield, but it was still a top concert.)

anyway, I think that’ll do for now. If I had a dukebox that could play anything I wold have the following donsgs
