The Rose of Shires

Wherever I go in the county - walking, riding a bike, or driving through one never fails to notice that the county is etched in rich historical heritage.

This is a painting of the area where I live - this county is very picturesque.

Princess Diana's paternal home is nearby where she now rests in peace, called althorpe house. Her family - the Spencer family own land all around us.

The county is dotted with quaint old churches. The oldest one is at Brixworth - that's one mile from me - It is a Norman church built in ad1038
