1999 Eclipse in Europe
The European Total Solar Eclipse of 11 August 1999. The dark region is the path of totality. The moon's shadow will move west to east (left to right on the map). The circles represent the position of the moon's shadow at 10 minute intervals. The figures for each circle give the time of mid totality (UT = Universal Time = GMT = Greenwich Mean Time), the duration of the total phase (maximum 2m 23s) and the altitude of the eclipsed sun. On either side of the path of totality are lines representing the partial phases.
