History

Liverpool equal Arsenal's 7 Championships.

Northampton Town are relegated after a succession of promotions from the Fourth Division beginning in 1960. They would return back to that level in 1969.

Everton win the FA Cup 3-2 after going 0-2 down.

Substitutes were allowed for an injured player for the first time.
