It was his idea to look on the internet for new sexual experiences. I think it was that HBO show, "Real Sex," that gave him the idea - there was an episode where we saw a couple using an internet chat and video program to fool around in front of another couple half-way around the world. Shortly after that, he started looking for sexy stuff on the 'net.
The first thing we really latched onto was exchanging sexy email with other couples: we placed some personal ads to find people to write to, and pretty soon we had found a few hot couples whom we wrote to regularly. These were graphic, explicit, swap-oriented fantasies that we exchanged - and we discovered that it really was a turn-on! Suddenly the sex we were having with each other was becoming really exciting... we would fantastize in bed about having these other couples with us, and we'd get super horny reading the letters they'd send us and writing the letters we'd send back to them.
Because of this sort of "cyber" introduction to swapping, it wasn't too long before we started talking about really finding a way to meet other couples. One of the responses we had received to our personal ad was an invitation to visit a particular swing club in a town about 90 minutes away from us. We visited their web site, where we found lots of really good information, and began talking more about the idea of attending one of this club's monthly dances. Eventually we did sign up to attend a dance - we tell you more about it in the "Our First Time" article - and a few weeks later attended another, then found a club closer to home so attended one of THEIR dances too.
We don't feel like this happened suddenly - especially after we visited the club web site, we started talking a LOT about how, why, and when we'd like to get involved in the lifestyle. Questions like, "What rules do you have for swinging?", "Do you become very jealous when others pay attention to your partner?", and "Why do you want to get involved in the lifestyle?" were good discussion-starters for us - fortunately, we were never very far apart on our answers to these questions. And, during all this talk, we continued our sexy email relationships - that helped convince us that it would indeed be sexy to become involved with another couple.
