Park Hotel 百樂酒店

Tsim Sha Tsui East 金沙咀東部(尖東)
This is facing Tsim Sha Tsui East 金沙咀東部(尖東) .

We have chosen to stay in PARK HOTEL 百樂酒店 which is ideally situated in the heart of Kowloon's shopping district.

Cameron Road 金馬倫道

These photos are taken outside the hotel, Cameron Road 金馬倫道 . In Hong Kong, you will surely see a lots of such big signboards hanging in the mid-air of most roads.

This is the ticket office 票務處  of the MTR (Mass Transit Railway).

MTR Ticket Office 票務處

MTR, first started in 1979, is the quickest way to hop between shopping areas, between Hong Kong Island 香港島 and Tsim Sha Tsui 金沙咀 , and for access to the New Territories 新界 .  Fares are between HK$3.50 and HK$9 (prices are stated as in that point of time, there might be now.  Can check it out at HKTA).

MTR Gateway

We are now going to Hong Kong Island 香港島 .   Taking the MTR to Admiralty MTR Station.

Lippo Tower

Admiralty 金鍾
Immdiately below Hong Kong Park and closer to the waterfront, lies Admiralty, now an extension of Central District 中環區 .  It is a collection of modern landmarks, including the deluxe Pacific Place Hotel and Shopping Complex, Hong Kong's new Supreme Court tower, and striking original Lippo Centre.

Lippo Tower, you wouldn't have miss this 'cos you can always see it in many of TVB and ATV drama series as their office's building scene.

Trams 電車
Hong Kong Tramways, is a 13-kilometre street transit system which is established more than 90 years ago.  For HK$1.20 you can travel the length of Hong Kong Island from Kennedy Town in the west to Shau Kei Wan 筲箕灣 in the east.   The double-decker trams trundle safely along their mid-street rails, providing top-deck passengers with fascinating slow-motion overviews of Hong Kong.

Here some knowledge of the history of Trams; four generations:
1st - normal single-deck tram
2nd - double-decker with waterproof top (but cannnot withstand rough weather, so....)
3rd - double-decker with wooden top (but cannot withstand rain, and...)
Therefore, the trams that you saw is still use until today.

Central District 中環區
Formerly known as Hong Kong's "capital" (Victoria City), where government headquarters, transportation hub, and financial and banking centre are.  It is also a shimmering cityscape of skscrapers and marbled shopping atriums and malls.

Central's eye-catching modern architectural marvels include the three harbourside towers of Exchange Square which houses the Stock Exchange, the soaring pinnacle of the Bank of China Tower, super-high-tech HongKongBank Building, and round-windowed Jardine House.

The photo on the right is of course the Bank of China Tower.  Designed by the Chinese-American architect, I.M.PEI, this 984-foot-high, 70-storey tower dominates the Hong Kong skyline.   The building soars upward in a series of triangles toward a prism at the top.   Inside, in the base of the building, there is evidence that the architect was inspired by the Great Wall of China, while the entrance hall has barrelled vaults in the style of Ming Dynasty tomb - a typically Hong Kong mixture of the ultramodern and the historic.

Another building that you wouldn't have miss it too 'cos it is also appears in many of TVB and ATV drama series.

Bank of China Tower
A view taken infront of the Lippo Tower towards Hong Kong Park.

But too bad, we did not get to go up to the park because we are too hungry at that time and was too busy looking for places to have a bite.

Prince of Wale Barracks

This is the Prince Of Wales Barracks.  One of the place where lovers love to go as it has a nice view facing towards Kowloon Island 九龍 .

What you saw now is ... of course the 4 youths lah!
Guess which is me?
