My holiday house on the Ox Mountains (a wilderness area on the Sligo Way Hill Walk), only 3 miles from the beach. TEFL with qualified experienced teacher at €200 per person per week (max 3 adults).

Miss Margaret Hedge is a retired qualified teacher -B.A. Education (Hon) Sussex University {specializing in history} and taught for 27 years in Sligo and is also a Riding and Road Safety Examiner / Trainer for Irish Pony Club. She is also a BHS Gold member and BHS listed Trainer for Riding and Road Safety (refer to BHS website). List 6 "Dressage Ireland" Judge. She arrived in 1977 with her first brood mare "Skibbereen Shanty" Throughout her time in Sligo she has enjoyed the landscape and activities in connection with her horses and ponies sharing riding expertise and fun with many children and their relations in Sligo.

5 day Medieval festival project with 3 classes, involving 2 role play Norman period dramas (in costume), paintings, for an exhibition held in Athy library,
during the Medieval festival week in April.

The Norman heritage of Co. Carlow for Athy Medieval festival exhibition.
Age appropriate art activities / visual materials / role play costume drama / props. 1150-1300.

Holy family school.
The Norman Invasion of Connacht in Newport, Clare Island, and pirateheritage. Pottery making, cardboard swords and shields, tapestry time lines.
Costume drama with props to touch and explore. Maps and stories with paintings. Horse military history.

The Norman medieval monastic period in Ballisodare and Sligo Town.
Norman Pottery designs on clay. Sligo Castle drawings and paintings, Monastery lifestyles, role play drama and replica artifacts to touch in a hall display.
June - one full day - field Trip. All classes.

Christian and Pre-Christian sites and heritage material displayed in new school hall.
Field Trip by coach to the 'Labby' rock megalithic tomb, viewed from Cromleach Lodge Hotel grounds.
Visit to the church Seancuach - Shancough, a medieval church with a vaulted end room. Drawings and photos on site, with building measurements for
project work later, on a model of the church, started in the classroom.
June - one full day. All classes.

Field Trip to Enniscrone Castle to measure the castle - make drawings for project work back in the classroom. Costume examples displayed for the castle
building period in Co. Sligo. Military fortifications and horse transport explained with models, posters and illustrations.
June - one full day. All classes.
Scoíl chríost Rí, Enniscrone, Co. Sligo
Field Trip to Enniscrone castle, photos, drawings, measurements taken for class discussion, surrounding my castle model, of the lifestyles, of this period in
Sligo. Mask making, handwriting using feathers, brass rubbings from my own collection of replica heritage brasses. Castle model and figures displayed in
two other classes, with the replica heritage artifacts. Module 3 Excavation-in-a-box used from Archaeology-in-the-classroom resource pack.

Heritage Week. Introduction of Dublin heritage using age appropriate visual material, examples of costumes for the Viking / Norman Medieval period.
Puppets, Mask making, painting, castle model tracing, brass rubbings. Pottery with play dough / plastecine. Horse heritage using model plastic figures.

Heritage projects completed in 2005
Archaeology in the Classroom modules. Carra NS Bonniconlon Co. Mayo 7000 BC to 1000 BC monuments in the area. Fun art activities with 65 children participating in making clay pots, painting designs onto polystyrene (standing stone) cut-outs. Map reading and building stone tombs in boxes.
The Abbey of Tarmon on Lough Allen Drumkeerin Co. Leitrim. Tarmon NS. A monastic project using puppets in a School drama and constructing/painting the Abbey model. Heritage projects completed in 2004
The deserted village at Aughris West Sligo. Kilrusheighter NS Templeboy. Model making of cottages and a drama depicting emigration and lifestyles of 50 years ago and more.
