On Anchor in Faro

Millennium Cruise 1999 - 2000

And come I may, but go I must, and if men ask you why, You may put the blame on the stars and the sun and the white road and the sky
Gerald Gould

Yacht Pylades and on board its owners, Fergus Quinlan and Kay Cronin commenced a voyage in Malahide in Ireland on May 14 1999 with an intended completion date of August 2000 in County Clare, Ireland.

The planned route from Ireland being Wales, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Africa, Maderia, Canaries, Cape Verde, Barbados, Tobago, up through the Caribbean chain and across to North America, the inter-coastal waterway, New York, Azores, County Clare in Ireland.

The voyage and a potted history of Pylades are what this website is about. A potted history of its owners would take somewhat longer, so suffice to say, Fergus Quinlan from the window by his drawing board decided to put pencils down and Kay Cronin from her desk by a red brick wall decided to call a halt to the 9 to 5 for a while and go with Pylades on an adventure.
