Born: Rabbits reach sexual maturity between three and six months of age. The female ovulates after being mounted by a male called induced ovulation. 30 - 33 days for the kittens (young rabbits) to be born. A doe (female rabbits) can have between 2 - 9 kittens at one time, but usually only have 4 – 5. By two weeks the kittens are furred and have their eyes open and can hear. Kittens start eating solid foods at 3 weeks of age and are weaned at 30 - 35 days. However kittens should remain with their mother until they are between 7 - 8 weeks old.
Housing: cages with slatted plastic floors, or a solid floor
Diet: pellets, fresh hay (alfalfa, timothy or oat), water and fresh vegetables (dark leafy veggies and root vegetables)
Health: Red Urine, Amoxicillin Danger, Cedar and Pine Shavings, Spay/Neuter, Teeth, Hairballs, Surgeries, Bacterial Infections, and Digestive Problems
