The Ein Gedi oasis was part of the tribe of Juda, on the occidental
shore of the Dead Sea. Escaping Shaul's wrath, it is the place David fleed
to. Today, Nahal David is a breathtaking natural reserve, attracting every
year thousands of tourists. The splendid 300 meter waterfall, that flows
in the wadi, favours the growth of a rich subtropical vegetation.
The archeological digs that took place in the surroundings of Ein
Gedi have revealed the relics of a human settlement extending from the
prehistorical to the roman period.
It is possible to quietly bathe in the waterfalls and in the lagoons.
However, if you plan to go hiking in the reserve, be sure to bring enough
water because you risk dehydration! And also, don't do like me...don't
get lost in the desert, because you could lose your life!
Here we are on a saturday afternoon...wouldn't you call that a dream?
