Not a great deal to report on new zealand, as im only here for 6 days,i arrived at 5.30 in the morning, and chipped into downtown aucland with the intention of getting sraight out of town, by 8.30am i was on a bus heading north for the bay of islands, i arrived at 12.30, looked around, thought , no i'll move on, and phoned this farm an hour further up the coast, thats the good thing about travelling alone, you arrive, you dont like it , you go, easy, so by 1 o clock i was on a bus heading to the far north, chloe farm,

Chloe farm is a really friendly, clean, beutiful farmhouse run by a family, stefano is a legend, and made me welcome straight away by inviting me to the beach with his family, great beach with perfect little waves for bodyboading, a pleasant afternoon was spent ( except for the sandflies , bloodsucking bastards), on our return i met the other people, a really friendly german couple and another german girl, we went to the worlds strangest cinema, i drove stafanos wife and her dad in this big old commador, the cinema was in an old school hall in the middle of nowhere with 2 rows of seats, as we sat with cups of tea with china cups and saucers the owner came and casually gave us a run down on the movie and opening tmes over easter ect a real film buff and a plesant time was had by all, the next day the 4 of us walked to some rockpools that we had to swim to through ice cold rivers, a real nature buzz, on the way back we took a short cut (sic)through this virgin part of forest, it was like something out of a vietnam move, trying to find our way out along a stream and clambering under big rocks and electric fences, the next day we resolved to go sailing but the weather was terrible, so we went kayaking in the magroves late afternoon, hoping the next day would let us go sailing but alas it did not, so i came back to aukland to sort out my first aid kit in preparation for china and that is about it for new zealand! tommorow i have a flight to cairns at 6am |
