I like san pedro, when i came here two years ago i had a great time, thats most the reason i came back for the millenium, plus i had heard there was going to be a party in the valley of the moon, when we got here i went in search for the house where i stayed before but alas it had been sold to an ajioning hotel so along with richard and an italian guy we met called stefano we went in search for budget camping, we didnt have to go far we stayed in a place just round the corner owned by this fat geezer called "chinito" which means chinese, more like chinner cos the geezer was a fat bolivian not chinese at all, he had posters of himself everywhere sayin he was "romatica tropical" not to much romantic about him either which made it even more funny, when we got out tents up we noticed a couple of mad blokes gutting a sheep, extra grim for staefano coz hes a veggie, the next morning on the brekfast table there was the sheeps head sitting there grinning eyes teeth an all , they just chucked it in a pot of water and boiled it, nutters, The next few days were enjoyably spent sleeping under trees chilling out and getting into the pace of life, every day like sunday and every night like saturday night with loads of drinking, good fun. I sorted out a nice hotel for me and julieta flippin expensive, 400 dollars for 5 nights inc new years eve, but i figured its once in a thousand years so why not We met some locals, marcello i had met two years ago shame about my terrible spanish but we met up and had a few nights of barbecues and bonfire, i love making bonfires somthing very satisfying about it. met loads of people and tried to find out about news years eve, seemed a bit sketchy Christmas was a relaxed affair, waking up at 4pm, crusing into town and going sandboarding in the sand dunes in the dessert, much the same as snowboarding but a lot more effort getting back to the top, went into town and treated ourselfs to steak and potatoes for dinner, about the most different type of christmas you can get |
